How to Apply
We carefully select diverse, multidisciplinary, multinational crews who come together to become more than the sum of their parts. We’re looking for individuals with a collaborative spirit, a positive attitude, and a passion for making a difference. Your unique skills—whether in science, communications, or leadership—will help create a lasting impact both at sea and back on land.
1. Fill out the form
The form asks for your details, your expedition preference and invites you to share your brilliant and unique skills, your motivations for getting on-board and how you want to have an impact.
2. Getting to know you
We will invite you to submit a short selfie-style video so we can get to know you better.
3. Video call
The final stage is a video call where we can find out more about each other and you will get the opportunity to ask questions. Following this we will send out offers to successful applicants to join the crew.
Please don’t be disheartened if you are not selected for your preferred expedition. We carefully curate crews to be multinational, diverse and multidisciplinary so it’s as much about the make-up of the group as it is about the individuals. Your application will review your application for future trips.

Life on Board
What to Expect
Life on board is a unique, challenging and transformational experience.
It’s a real adventure, not a relaxing holiday. You’ll be part of a working crew, not a passenger. Guest Crews muck in so; be prepared to be hoisting sails, part of a watch rota (day and night), cooking, eating, cleaning and sleeping in close quarters, living life at an angle.
We take care of all the logistical arrangements and work with the best partners to provide a fully equipped sailing vessel meeting the highest safety standards, with a leadership crew to guide you through your expedition. You will be deeply involved in our scientific data collection programme with expert knowledge provided by our Mission leader and Science Partner University of Georgia.
You’ll make deep connections with incredible crewmates, learn new skills, and carry out groundbreaking science. Following the trip you will have the opportunity to become an eXXpedition Ambassador and join a movement and established community working towards results that are bigger than we can achieve as individuals.
