We’re thrilled to announce that EyeBuyDirect, the leading online retailer for prescription eyewear, will be supporting our mission! Leveraging the momentum from the 5 TO SEE launch last November, EyeBuyDirect will be donating a percentage of collection sales to eXXpedition, further driving the company’s commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable planet.
EyeBuyDirect is an online optical shop for contemporary men’s, women’s and children’s eyeglasses and sunglasses, with their latest 5 TO SEE eyeware collection made using upcycled plastic bottles.
“Sustainability is a key focus for EyeBuyDirect. We want to make sustainable products, but also increase education and awareness so more people can learn, share knowledge and be part of the solution. Our support for eXXpedition will assist their work exploring solutions and help develop the small behavioral changes leading to a bigger impact.” – Jim Merk, Brand Director EyeBuyDirect
We will also be collaborating with EyeBuyDirect on a series of initiatives throughout the year to bring awareness to the issue of plastic waste in the oceans:
- SHiFT Platform – EyeBuyDirect and the 5 TO SEE collection will be featured on the SHiFT Platform, which helps people navigate hundreds of solutions to the plastics issue. Join us at 5.30pm (GMT) on Thursday 25th March for an Instagram live session on @missemilypenn with EyeBuyDirect!
- Tune into the live SHiFT Session with EyeBuyDirect’s CEO, Sunny Jiang, who will be sitting down with Emily Penn, Co-Founder and Director of eXXpedition, on this Thursday, March 18, to commemorate Women’s History Month. Their talk will address various topics, including the importance of sustainability to EyeBuyDirect and the challenges and opportunities they face as female leaders.
- SHiFT Workshop – A select group of EyeBuyDirect’s brand ambassadors and employees will participate in a workshop over the summer led by eXXpedition Mission Leader Sally Earthrowl to help rethink their role in solving global ocean pollution problems.
