eXXpedition Round Britain crew member Samantha Sutton describes her experience of life on board during leg 3 of the voyage:

“Today was a perfect day for sailing. The sky was clear and I learned how to sail with the wind which was harder than navigating by compass. We were further ahead in our journey to London than expected so decided to slow down for some trawling.
Luckily, I hadn’t yet been hit with seasickness but as soon as we pulled the manta trawl out of the ocean, I became woozy and was falling all over the place. Everyone came to my rescue and I was put to sleep.
When I woke up eventually, I headed back on deck with some jam bagels in hand. We all gathered on deck and watched the sunset. It was truly beautiful. It was our first night of storytelling and both Tanya and Deborah S told us about their personal journeys and how they ended up on this trip. It took me by surprise how open and honest they were, but it was very inspiring. These women are incredible!
The stars came out and we could see the twinkling lights from the coastline. It was a lovely ending to an eventful day (for me!)”
